Goal

Holy smokes! We are 8 weeks into the journey together! I’m excited about this! How are we going to celebrate this? Because, as important as it is to SET the goal, is also as important it is to celebrate along the way with intentionality.

Is this the longest you’ve stuck with a program? Maybe this is the first time you’ve even tried a program like this? This week, right here and right now…decide how you will celebrate this moment. You’ve done a lot of work on yourself and this deserves a small reward.

True to lifestyle change, let’s talk about what celebration looks like. To do this, we really have to visit what celebration is NOT! Celebration is not something that will go the exact opposite of the lifestyle change you are trying to achieve. For example, if you are trying to stay sober, we don’t celebrate 3 months of sobriety with a shot. No, we stick with the lifestyle we are choosing. So what is YOUR lifestyle change all about? And how can you responsibly celebrate your successes along the way?

Here are some simple suggestions: Focus on the number 8 since we are now 8 weeks in and this is the celebration week. Buy yourself a 8th birthday card and write how proud you are of you in the card! Create a social media post talking about your 8 weeks of change and make it a party post. Take yourself to breakfast, lunch, or dinner and have a healthy meal…alone. Buy yourself a new candle.

However you choose to celebrate, make it something you will enjoy so that it truly feels like a reward. Got that in mind? Great…WRITE IT DOWN AS THE GOAL FOR THE WEEK. Then, go and execute.


Identify

How did you feel when you read above that it was time to celebrate? Were you immediately excited? Did the excitement stay or did it start to dissipate after you started reading what celebration is NOT? Did you fill with anxiety when you were told to celebrate because you never do such a thing? Go to your journal and talk about that. Whatever you felt when you learned that this is the week of celebration, explore your feelings around that. Sometimes, we aren’t successful in our journey, NOT BECAUSE WE CAN’T ACCOMPLISH IT, but because we are afraid that we might actually accomplish it!!!! I know, it sounds off kilter. But trust me on this…it’s true.


Affirmation

Now, because we have set the goal to celebrate with intentionality, and we’ve explored our feelings around that…this week’s affirmation is simple.

Write: I am worthy of the visions and goals i’m going after.

Write it in your journal. Post it on all of your social media platforms. Text it to all of your friends. Tell it to your significant other. Make a song out of it and sing it to your kids…SCREAM IF FROM THE ROOF TOP!
