Goal
I heard TD Jakes say that when you pray for change, God sends disruption and that our problem is that we think the disruption needs to be solved so the disruption becomes a distraction. That statement was at the very beginning of the sermon but he coulda stopped right there for me because I felt delivered from that alone.
In this lifestyle change you’ve been praying for…it is time to begin to understand what the assignment really is. This week, we take a long hard look at what’s the change we truly want, and what the focus should be as we move day to day…
Identify
What are the disruptions that came for you? Grab your journal and begin to list them. As you list them, describe them in detail and talk about how you’ve tried to “solve” them.
Once you’ve done that, read over it again. Did it ever occur to you that you were never supposed to solve these issues? That they were sent as a vehicle to the thing you prayed for? Think about it for a moment. Now, write down what you think your ACTUAL assignment is. Really focus here…I think God will speak to you right now. What SHOULD you be focused on if not that distraction packaged as a disruption?
Let’s begin to focus on THAT. But sometimes, you must think it through and write it out first.
