Assignment begins below. Please take the course of your week to complete. If it takes you longer, that is okay. Be patient with yourself as you thoughtfully think through it all.

Goal

This week, let’s look at SELF CARE. YOU CAN NOT POUR FROM AN EMPTY CUP. Fill yourself!!!

Journal Entry: What are some things you have done in the past for self care? Are you still doing them on a regular basis? How often are you getting self care?

Set a new self care goal: Once you’ve completed that entry, set a goal in ink. What are you committing to do FOR SELF CARE over the next MONTH TO TWO MONTHS? If you’d like, you may do the rest of this assignment and then come back to this part.

Examples of self care: monthly massages, weekly hair appoinments, morning workouts, naps, sitting poolside for an hour, sitting firepit side for an hour, date night (even with yourself), spending time in the art museum…

Identify

Journal entry: Start with this sentence and go on from there… “When I don’t have time to do the things that I want to do, I feel _________” Tell yourself the reasons you feel that way and how you can be your own agent of change. Tell yourself the things you’ve had to postpone that was all for you just because you felt you didn’t have time.

Did that last entry piss you off? Good. Now start a new sentence in the same journal entry and tell yourself how you will change that from this day forward. Tell yourself how important you are and how you will begin to make time for yourself starting TODAY.

Affirmation

Let’s practice this together! Say out loud to yourself: “I am worth ______” (for me it would be that mani pedi i’ve been putting off) “I can afford it, it makes me feel great and I am worthy of feeling great.” Now write it down. Say it again for as many self care items as you need to ad then write them down. I’ve got a list. My facials, my weekly hair appt, the money I have to shell out on my meal plan…It all makes me feel like a million bucks and guess what? I’m worth that.

Meditation topic: Turn on your meditation app for ten minutes to meditate on on the joy you feel when you take wonderful care of yourself. Pray a prayer of thanksgiving to God for your abilities to care for yourself in order to continue caring for the rest of His children…

DON’T FORGET TO REVISIT YOUR SELF CARE GOAL

Congratulations! You’ve completed another week of assignments!

Come over to the facebook group and tell us what self care item you are MOST looking forward to carrying out this coming week/month!
