Assignment begins below. Please take the course of your week to complete. If it takes you longer, that is okay. Be patient with yourself as you thoughtfully think through it all.

Goal

TIME IS THE REAL CURRENCY IN LIFE.

There…I said it. And I meant what I said!

But it’s not like you didn’t already know, right? You’ve heard sayings like “Time is money” right? It is this idea that it comes from. We work tirelessly for money. We need money to pay bills, be able to travel, eat, raise kids etc. So i’m not suggesting that we don’t need money. I’m offering that TIME is the one thing we take for granted in lieu of hustling for money. We will spend all day working and then work when we get home. We make a conscience decision to spend all of our time working. We will not go on dates, not spend time with our friends and family…all on the account of needing to get work done. Then, when a loved one dies, we may feel guilty. All they wanted from us was a little TIME.

This week, let’s spend some time with time. In the “We Should All Be Millionaires” book, Rachel Rodgers broke down time so good that it is worth re-reading the entire book just for that! She talked about hiring someone to do your shopping so you can use your TIME more wisely on money generating activities. This is because how you use your time directly affects how valuable your life activities will be.

Prior to reading the book, I had already been using Instacart to deliver groceries, but after reading the book I realized it was one of the best decisions ever made! Then I started looking around to see what other things I could move off of my own plate and hire someone to do. It is literally game-changing!

Identify

What about you? What time saving items can you move off of your plate and hire someone to do? Grab your journal and let’s write it out!

Shopping? A driver for your children? I only bring this up because it is something I’ve been thinking about. Their schedules are packed more than my own! A chef to prepare meals for your family a few times per week? Write down the things that takes up your time that you might not mind giving up.

On the next page, write down the things you wish you had more time for. Nothing is too small either! I wrote things like movie nights with my kids. This was so important to me because each night I come home so tired that all I could do was feed them and go to bed. Movie nights with popcorn and blankets cuddled up on the couch is time well spent for me so I wrote it down like it was a million dollars!

When you are done with both lists, look at them carefully. Look at what everything you have written down equates to in value and start executing. You may say, I can’t afford a personal shopper. But is that actually true? I use Instacart mostly and that is $10 per month plus any delivery fees. I’ll pay for that convenience. But even a personal assistant might not be that expensive if you find someone you can trust who just needs extra cash.
