Assignment begins below. Please take the course of your week to complete. If it takes you longer, that is okay. Be patient with yourself as you thoughtfully think through it all.
Goal
Reap what you sow.
I need to be honest with you. I’ve been studying to great extent Biblical Entrepreneurship and what that looks like. I’ve been wanting my life to line up with God’s will. In order to do that, i’ve been listening to and studying from different pastors and coaches that teach Kingdom work. The phrase “Reap what you sow” is a phrase all to familiar whether you are studying the Bible or not.
Church teaches you to sow. In fact, they. put great emphasis on the sowing. Recently, I heard Dr. Dharius Daniel talk about how much work the reaping is…and it BLEW MY MIND. We know how much work sowing is. We often talk about the work of planting, watering, pruning, etc…WE NEVER TALK ABOUT THE WORK OF REAPING. But think about it…Who is it that picks the grapes off the vines? If those apples fall to the ground on their own, the moment they hit the ground they are no longer good for our consumption. Somebody has to physically go about picking the fruit and crops. IT’S WORK.
It’s so much work, an economy was built around slave labor to make it happen. We don’t have to bother that.
So while we are thinking that the skies will open up and our reaping season will be plentiful just falling out of the heavens and into our laps…we are missing the point. We are going to have to work just as hard in the reaping as we did in the sowing.
Open your journal and write down what you thought reaping would be if you had any thoughts at all. Then write down what seeds you’ve sewn that you need to reap and what work that will entail now that you are thinking about it.
Identify
Now that we are reaping in our minds, it’s time to put some action to it. Name one seed you planted that you want to reap soon. Name it. What is the time frame that you thought you’d see a return? Write that down. Is it taking longer or lesser of the time? Is it time now? Do you have more time to be patient with it? What kind of work will be be needed to SUCCESSFULLY reap your seeds? We can’t pick too fast, we can’t wait too long. We need just enough water. What do you need to do? Will it require staff or can you handle it alone? Map it out in your journal so that we can get to work on it!
REAPING IS WORK. But it is worth it.
Affirmation
Share the thought of reaping being real work with a friend. Watch for their reaction. Are you shocked at their reaction? Record your thoughts on it all in your journal.
